If buying ready made furniture then check that the access to the room is suitable for the item sizes. If buying flat-packed furniture then ensure that the items are put together securely according to the instructions.
Finally, remember that safety is an issue with nursery furniture. Make sure to buy furniture that has passed all relevant safety standards (such as the BSI`s Kite Mark scheme).
